We had the opportunity to help Lydia’s son’s kindy class make mothers day gifts on Wednesday. We thought creating these cookie push pops would be a fun activity and make a delicious mothers day treat.
I must admit though I was really only the observer and designated photographer for the morning. The hard work was done by Lydia and her fellow Kindy mum Cathy.
They baked 150 mini cookies for the class and then covered them in colourful fondant ready for the kids to decorate. All the shades of pastel fondant colours were made using Bakels purple, pink and white pettinice fondant. It was great to be able to create all these colours from only using three colours mixed together in different combinations.
We put together a range of our sprinkles for them to add to the cookies and made some royal icing ready to use in our cellophane triangles. It was great seeing all the kids involved with the activity and amazingly most of the sprinkles ended up on the cookies instead of in everyones mouths:)
We used a range of our products to create these cookies including;
- Bakels Pettinice Coloured fondant
- Round cookie cutter tin set
- Cake Push Pop containers
- Edible sprinkles, cachous and confetti
- Royal Icing mix
- Food colour paste
- Cellophane Triangles
